General Settings

Language

Set the interface language:

• English
• 中文 (Chinese)

Theme

Choose your preferred appearance:

• System - Match your Mac's appearance
• Light - Always use light mode
• Dark - Always use dark mode

Launch at Login

Enable to start Yark automatically when you log in.

Show in Menu Bar

Keep Yark accessible from the menu bar for quick access.

Speech Recognition

Default Provider

Choose between local models or cloud providers for transcription.

Language

Set the default language for speech recognition. Yark will automatically detect the language if set to "Auto".

Punctuation

Enable automatic punctuation insertion.

Profanity Filter

Mask profane words in transcriptions.

AI Enhancement

Provider

Configure your preferred AI provider for text enhancement:

• OpenAI (GPT-4, GPT-3.5)
• Anthropic (Claude)
• Local models

Enhancement Style

Choose how AI enhances your text:

• Clean - Fix grammar and punctuation only
• Professional - Formal, business-appropriate tone
• Casual - Conversational tone
• Custom - Define your own enhancement prompt

Account

Devices

View and manage devices connected to your account. You can have up to 3 devices active at a time.

Subscription

View your current plan and manage billing.

Data & Privacy

Local Processing

All speech recognition using local models is processed entirely on your device. Your voice data is never sent to external servers.

Cloud Processing

When using cloud providers, your audio is sent to the respective service (OpenAI, Groq, etc.) according to their privacy policies.

Data Storage

Yark does not store your transcriptions on our servers. All history is stored locally on your device.
